International Samaritan Jamaica delivers holistic, community-driven programs that empower youth and families living in underserved communities. Our programs address education, mental health, food security, language development, economic opportunity, and financial independence.

Scholarship Program

Our comprehensive education pathway supports scholars from early childhood to tertiary education and beyond.

Support Includes:

  • Tuition, uniforms, books, exam fees, and mentorship
  • Academic and psychosocial support across school levels
  • monthly stipend to help cover transportation and lunch costs
  • Financial literacy and planning workshops to build money management skills
  • Ongoing career guidance and alumni engagement

Workforce Education Program

Our multi-layered Workforce Education Program equips scholars—especially those in grades 7 to 12—with personal, academic, and career-readiness skills.

Core Pillars:

  • Personal Development: Leadership, critical thinking, digital literacy, advocacy, self-care, communication, and public speaking
  • Post-Secondary Preparation: College credits, career technical education, field trips, online courses, and readiness workshops
  • Career Development: Resume writing, networking, apprenticeships, entrepreneurship, job fairs, and financial literacy training

Grounded in Hope Action Theory and Social Cognitive Career Theory, this program was launched in Jamaica and will scale globally across seven countries. Evaluation tools include pre/post surveys, interviews, focus groups, and observation to ensure continuous improvement and measurable impact.

Learn, Serve, Grow Program

This flagship cross-cultural initiative links Jamaican scholars with international student groups for mutual service, cultural exchange, and learning.

Program Features:

  • Joint projects such as school beautification, mentoring, and hydroponics installations
  • Shared cultural, religious, and learning experiences
  • Sustained relationships with global partners who commit to sponsoring scholars long-term

Tutoring Program

Our Tutoring Program provides personalized academic support in literacy, numeracy, English, and STEM.

  • After-school and weekend sessions
  • Preparation for major national exams including PEP, CSEC, and CAPE

Mental Health & Wellness Program

We prioritize the emotional and psychological well-being of scholars and their families.

Program Offerings:

  • Group and individual counseling
  • Mental health awareness workshops
  • Trauma-informed care and first aid training
  • Mindfulness, stress relief, grief management, and resilience-building activities

Language Exchange Program

A virtual cultural and language exchange program connecting Jamaican and Guatemalan scholars.

  • Weekly sessions in Spanish and English
  • Presentations, storytelling, virtual games, and shared reflections
  • Builds bilingual skills, cultural respect, and global friendships

Hydroponics Program with Jamaica Tower Farms

In collaboration with Jamaica Tower Farms, our scholars grow nutritious food using sustainable, soilless systems.

Program Benefits:

  • Training in hydroponics, vertical farming, and agribusiness
  • Towers provide produce for school meals and local markets
  • Low-resource model reduces water usage by 90%
  • Boosts local food security and empowers youth with agricultural knowledge
